Level II NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) The Hialeah Hospital has a level II NICU is a neonatal intensive care unit that is capable for moderately premature babies and can care for babies born after gestational age. The NICU cares for babies who:

• Can't stay warm on their own and need to be placed in an incubator.

• Aren't strong enough to eat well and need NG or OG feeds.

• Have health problems related to prematurity, such as jaundice or apnea of prematurity, anemia, bradycardia, hydrocephalus, bronchopulmonary dysplasia, interventricular hemorrhage, necrotizing enterocolitis and respiratory distress syndrome.
