4D Ultrasound Technology
This gives expectant parents an unprecedented glimpse of their unborn baby. The technology works by continuously updating the ultrasound image, providing a real time view of the fetus. It allows doctors to visualize internal anatomy in order to analyze fetal development, determine fetal age, identify abnormalities and evaluate women with high-risk pregnancies.

Diagnostic and Screening Technology
Digital Mammography
Hialeah Hospital is on the cutting-edge of diagnostic technology, with digital mammography. Digital mammography produces extremely accurate images in seconds, and is helpful for analyzing hard-to-view places, and for younger women and women with dense breasts.
Who benefits from digital mammography?
Women under 50
Women of any age, with very dense breasts
Pre- or peri-menopausal women of any age
Image-Guided Breast Diagnosis If a mammogram reveals a suspicious mass, a biopsy may need to be done. Hialeah Hospital provides stereotactic or image-guided technology to accurately diagnose a mass without invasive surgery. Using a computer and X-ray images, coordinates of the mass are determined. Then the surgeon inserts a needle into the lesion and removes a sample of tissue to send to the lab. There is no cutting and little pain and most women return to normal activities immediately.
Stereotactic biopsy can be used to examine:
A suspicious solid mass
Clusters of calcium deposits
A distortion of the breast structure
An area of abnormal tissue
A new mass or area of calcium at a previous surgical site.
