Quicker, more in-depth exams allow Hialeah patients to get in and out of the exam room faster than ever before
HIALEAH, FL – Hialeah Hospital announced today that it has acquired a new, high-tech ultrasound system from GE Healthcare. The LOGIQ 9 is a premier ultrasound system designed to get patients in and out of the exam room faster than ever before.
A new medical imaging technique called Volume Ultrasound helps clinicians at Hialeah Hospital to quickly and precisely perform a broad variety of ultrasound exams from abdominal and breast to vascular imaging.
With Volume Ultrasound, Hialeah Hospital’s clinicians simply sweep the ultrasound transducer over a patient’s anatomy to collect the image information needed. With this volume of image data, the clinician is able to “virtually” do additional analysis and create a variety of images of the anatomy of concern after the patient has left the medical office.
“Virtual re-scan allows our clinicians to create 3D or 4D views, analyze high-resolution zooms of anatomy, or apply special reading effects without the patient having to be there or return for additional exams,” explains Ralph Aleman, CEO of Hialeah Hospital “This helps to reduce patient visits, as well as being beneficial for extremely sick patients or those with difficulties when being scanned.”
In addition, we chose GE’s LOGIQ 9 because it provides a clearer picture to view. This greatly assists patients to better understand what they are looking at when doctors explain their ultrasound exams.
The patient experience gets even better with the help of LOGIQ 9’s ergonomic design. Hialeah Hospital clinicians now have the freedom to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. This helps patient to become more comfortable and the clinician will now be able to build a closer relationship with each patient.
Ultrasound, also known as sonography, creates images of internal bodily structures and organs for diagnostic medical purposes. Ultrasound uses high-frequency sound waves and advanced computing technology to create a real-time, multi-dimensional clinical image.
“We’re breaking barriers in speed and accuracy of patient exams and are now able to offer new and enhanced ultrasound procedures thanks to our new LOGIQ 9 Ultrasound System,” stated Aleman. “This technology will greatly benefit both our physicians and patients of Hialeah Hospital.”
