HIALEAH, FL -- Hialeah Hospital announced that it has received 11 CIGNA quality designations. These designations mean that the hospital has met rigorous quality criteria based on nationally recognized medical standards and expert advice.
Hialeah Hospital received the following designations: Caesarean Section, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Laparoscopic Gallbladder Removal, Gastric Bypass, Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Total Abdominal Hysterectomy, Adult Pneumonia, Stroke and Vaginal Delivery.

The CIGNA designations are based on the hospital’s effectiveness in treating the selected condition or performing the procedure. The designation measures and weighs complications, mortality and The Leapfrog Group Patient Safety Index.
