The birth of a child is a magical time for the entire family. Choosing a hospital for this momentous occasion is one of the first and most important decisions you’ll make for your baby. The Maternal Child Center--right here in your neighborhood--offers comprehensive services to care for you at every stage of pregnancy. 

   Free Childbirth Classes

A trained instructor conducts classes several times a month English and Spanish.  Classes teach common methods of relaxation and ensure that you and your partner know what to expect at every stage of childbirth. 

The Birth

Hialeah boasts one of the more experienced staffs in the area. Many  nurses have been with us for years and their knowledge and expertise is invaluable. Our entire team of friendly, compassionate medical professionals is dedicated to making the birth of your child a joyous and memorable.

The Maternal Child Center offers attractive, comfortably designed rooms for labor, delivery and recovery, including spacious antepartum rooms. Private post-partum rooms are available. Your comfort is our biggest concern and we will ensure your stay with us is as peaceful and worry-free as possible.

Special Care for High Risk Newborns

Hialeah has a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for babies with special needs. A team of affiliated neonatologists and nurses experienced in caring for high risk newborns staff the unit.  

Questions to ask any hospital you are considering for the birth of your child

  • How are you equipped to handle emergencies?
  • What level nursery is available?
  • How many deliveries take place at your hospital each year?
  • What is the nurse-to-patient ratio?
  • What are the hospital's statistics for cesarean sections, episiotomies and mortality?
  • How many labor and support people may be present for the birth?
  • What procedures are followed after the baby's birth?
  • Can I breastfeed immediately if desired? Is rooming in available?
  • How long is the typical postpartum stay for vaginal deliveries?  For cesarean sections?
  • Can my baby and the father stay with me in my room around the clock?
