Assess Your Colon Cancer Risk

Hialeah's state-of-the-art Colorectal Institute provides specialized care for colon and rectal diseases and conditions in a professional, caring atmosphere. The Institute is headed by renowned colorectal
surgeon, Dr. Roger Pons, who has more than 20 years experience and a reputation for using cutting-edge techniques to treat patients.

Because of the nature of some colorectal conditions, people can feel awkward about discussing them. There is no reason to suffer in silence.

We offer effective solutions for common problems such as hemorrhoids, constipation and Irritable Bowel Syndrome, as well as cutting-edge treatments for serious diseases including colorectal cancer.

Colorectal Cancer

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among men and women. The Colorectal Institute diagnoses and treats this potentially life-threatening disease with advanced
Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery (TEM), a minimally-invasive option that removes tumors with no abdominal incision, less pain and shorter hospital stays.

Have You Been Screened For Colon Cancer?

Colorectal cancer can have almost no symptoms until the later stages. Every adult over age 50 should get a colon cancer screening annually.  If you have a relative who was diagnosed before age 50, you should begin screenings 10 years before the age he or she was diagnosed.

Hemorrhoids

One in 26 people in the U.S. suffer.  Though embarrassing, hemorrhoids are very treatable.  We use an advanced technique called PPH (Procedure for Prolapsed Hemorrhoids), a minimally-invasive tool that removes hemorrhoids with less pain, less bleeding and quicker recovery times.

Chronic Constipation & Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

Bowel issues are a problem for millions. The Colorectal Institute specializes in treating these conditions.  Services include a minimally-invasive technique called STARR (Stapled
Transanal Rectal Resection)
to remove obstructed tissue that can cause Obstructed Defecation Syndrome (ODS), a form of chronic constipation. We also provide proven, effective medical solutions to treat IBS.
