Hialeah Hospital recently hosted the leaders of six local charities to which it, along with the Tenet Healthcare Foundation, donated $5,000 each, totaling $30,000, to support their ongoing services to the community.
The charities include:
- Boy Scouts of America, the donation will benefit programs in low-income area communities that focus on character development and values-based leadership training.
- Drug Free Youth In Town (DFYIT), a program dedicated to recognizing children who choose to live a healthy, drug-free lifestyle and supporting a healthy, drug-free youth.
- Economic Opportunity Family Health Center, an organization that provides primary and obstetric medical care to the underserved.
- Hialeah Fire & Rescue, a foundation that provides emergency medical services to the community of Hialeah.
- League Against Cancer, a not-for-profit organization that provides free medical care to low-income uninsured cancer patients.
- YMCA of Hialeah, the donation will subsidize economically disadvantaged children in the community who attend YMCA Day Camp and participate in the organization's sports programs that promote a healthy lifestyle.

Tenet Healthcare Foundation is a charitable foundation sponsored by Tenet Healthcare Corporation. Endowed by Tenet, the Foundation, along with Tenet California, directs most of its grants to help unmet health care needs in the communities served by facilities owned by Tenet subsidiaries. The Foundation also provides grants to various educational, social services, civic and humanities supporting organizations nationwide.
Hialeah Hospital, part of Tenet's Miami-Dade Health Network, is a 378-bed acute care hospital located at 651 East 25th Street in Hialeah. The hospital has been serving the medical and health care needs of central to north Miami-Dade County since 1951.
