Hialeah, FL – Lourdes Camps, director of critical care and telemetry at Hialeah Hospital, was given the President’s Award for exemplary service, which recognizes a managerial employee for outstanding leadership.
“Lourdes has always dedicated herself completely to her job,” said Grisel Fernandez-Bravo, chief nursing officer for Hialeah Hospital. “The employees she oversees learn from her example and, as a team, they help make our hospital a better place.”
Camps joined Hialeah Hospital in 1986, as a critical care nurse and assistant head nurse in the hemodialysis unit. She currently oversees 13 ICU beds, 8 CCU beds and a 26-bed step-down unit.
An accomplished nurse, Camps earned a Master of Science in Health Service Administration from Nova Southeastern University in 2000, a Bachelor of Health Administration from Florida International University in 1998, as well as a nursing diploma from Jackson Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, where she was an honor graduate in 1985.
The hospital, located at 651 East 25 Street in Hialeah, offers a wide array of medical programs, most notably the Weight Loss Surgery Program, Sleep Disorders Program, the Endovascular Center of Miami-Dade and the Motherhood Center.
